Farms and ranches across the nation will soon be receiving the 2017 Census of Agriculture in the mail. The census is taken every 5 years and looks at land use and ownership, operator characteristics, production practices, income and expenditures.  Data from the census is used by community planners, companies and cooperatives, local governments, and legislatures as well as other farmers and ranchers looking to make informed business decisions. Responses are due February 5, 2018. Producers can mail in their census form or complete the online questionnaire.
