Liz Carlisle, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Studies Program at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is author of the award-winning book Lentil Underground and co-author, with Bob Quinn, of Grain by Grain.

Dr. Aly Cohen is a board-certified rheumatologist and integrative medicine physician, as well as an environmental health specialist. Her medical practice, Integrative Rheumatology Associates, P.C., located in Princeton, NJ, focuses on the western medical and integrative approaches to rheumatologic disorders, including arthritis, chronic pain, immune system dysfunction and women’s health.

David C. Johnson, PhD, is a NMSU research scientist and molecular biologist at WERC, a consortium for environmental education and technology development housed in the College of Engineering, does research for the Institute of Sustainable Agricultural Research at NMSU. Johnson’s research in carbon capture and storage in agricultural soils was highlighted in The Soil Will Save Us, by Kristin Ohlson.

Bob Quinn, PhD, is an organic farmer near Big Sandy, Montana, and a leading green businessman. His enterprises include the ancient grain business Kamut International and Montana’s first wind farm.
