This year the Farm Bill is up for renewal and the time for a new organic and regenerative alternative is now. Congressman Earl Blumenauer recently gathered policy and financial experts, environmentalists, advocates, and others to discuss the challenges of the Farm Bill and introduce his version, the Food and Farm Act. The Food and Farm Act represents our best solution to the greatest challenges of our time; food security, climate change and economic pressures. The Act focuses on four key principles: to focus resources towards those who need it most, foster innovation, ensure food access, and encourage investment in people and the planet. This Act also encourages the promotion of organic agricultural practices by opening funds to farmers who comply with federal organic regulations and those transitioning into organic.
