NOFA-NJ would like to thank Joe Heckman for serving three terms, nine years, on the NOFA-NJ Board of Directors. Joe has frequently spoken at NOFA-NJ Conferences, organized successful educational events about organic farming, recruited new members and Board members and always contributed his valuable perspective to the Board based on his deep knowledge of the history of the organic farming movement. Joe will continue work with NOFA-NJ’s  Education Committee and Nominating Committees.  He serves on the Board of The Raw Milk Institute and Farm to Consumer Foundation.  One of Joe’s passions is the topic of Raw Milk, and he is looking forward to having more time to focus on helping farmers and consumers develop systems and opportunities.
Joe says, “I really value the Community and Education aspects of NOFA-NJ, and I look forward to keeping in touch, participating in events and staying connected, its been my pleasure to serve on the Board.” Meanwhile, Joe continues to operate his farm, Neshanic Pastures and is an Extension Specialist in Soil Fertility and Professor at Rutgers University.
