Cattail Hollow Farm
Meg became a farmer later in life after learning that the office job thing just wasn’t for her, and being a breast cancer survivor diagnosed at 32 also helped her realize that she shouldn’t waste time doing something she didn’t love. In 2016, Meg started as an urban farm apprentice at City Green in Clifton, NJ, moving on to apprentice at the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture in Tarrytown, NY. For the past 4 years, she has been the farm director at Hazelman Farms in West Milford, NJ. Megan found her current farm property in Lafayette, NJ in early 2021, and started Cattail Hollow Farm in Spring 2022. She wants to establish a food-producing ecosystem on the neglected farm property, emphasizing permaculture principles and biodiversity, championing native and heritage flora and fauna and supporting the local community.
