Pastured Pork in New Jersey

Pasture Walk at Lima Farms

June 20 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Please join us for an informal pasture walk at Lima Farms where they use sustainable cultural practices to raise beef, pork, broilers, and eggs from grazing livestock.  Lima Farms also produces vegetables.  On this last day of spring we will observe the transition from grazing cool season species to summer annuals and perennials.  On this pasture walk we will discuss rotational grazing, moving animals, fencing, soil fertility, plant species identification, animal breeds, weed management, direct marketing, and much more in a relaxed, picturesque, pastoral informal setting guided by farmer John Lima.  Invited to join us are Rutgers University faculty with expertise in botany, animal science, weed science, soil science, pasture management, and marketing. Registration is free.
