Green America is a national, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, membership organization founded in 1982. Sustainable food and agriculture is one of their primary focus areas. In the most recent issue of their Green American Magazine, they feature a story called “Heal the Soil, Cool the Climate”, by Tracy Fernandez Rysavy, with photo credit to Angie Mosier. The online version of the article (see “Source” at bottom of this blog post) links to a wonderful video by Peter Byck, “100,000 Beating Hearts”.

The article includes an interview with Green America’s President, Alisa Gravitz, in which she makes a hopeful and compelling case for regenerative agriculture, especially when it comes to addressing climate change. As she says,

“The switch to regenerative agriculture is happening, and it’s happening fast. Our job is to get the US on board. We can reverse the climate crisis. The answer lies beneath our feet.”

We highly recommend reading the article and watching the short movie. Will Harris’s story demonstrates the promise of regenerative agriculture. Many thanks to Green America and everyone involved in sharing these stories!
