5/11, NOFA NJ Farm Tour: Mike’s Blueberries (5-7PM): Join NOFA NJand Mike Price for a tour of Mike’s Blueberries, a Certified Organic blueberry farm in Pemberton, NJ. Mike grows and tends to ten acres of organic blueberries and sells direct to customer and via wholesale outlets during the season. Michael’s farm is located in the very town the high bush blueberry was cultivated from the wild, by Elizabeth White. Register Here

5/12, MarketLink Webinar (Virtual) (7-8PM): Join NOFA NJ and Whitney Butler of MarketLink. MarketLink is a program of the National Association of Farmers Market Nutrition Programs (NAFMNP) that assists farmers and markets with accepting the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly Food Stamps) and electronic payments. 5/24, Taco Tuesday! (7-10PM): Kick off the season with NOFA NJ and Yard Tacos in High Bridge for a taco Tuesday to remember! This event is FREE to NOFA MEMBERS, Chefs and Farmers. Bring your open minds, your good vibes and your dancing shoes! We plan to re invigorate our community with passion for food, farming and friendship as we unveil our monthly food event series along with other NOFA NJ news.
Non-members can register at the door at a discounted rate for just $20. This is a BYOB event; you can purchase packaged goods next door to the event at a discounted price. If you have some local ingredients to help the cause, let us know what you will bring to Chef Andrew Mercado, or, if you are able, bring it to him ahead of time.
5/19: Southern NJ Nutrition Security Learning Collaborative is hosting a webinar and panel discussion focused on models for healthy food choices and nutrition education at food pantries. Participating pantries are eligible for an organizational stipend of $100. View the Flyer Here
5/20-22: Restoration Agriculture is hosting a 3-day Workshop in Bethel, NY. Join NOFA NJ favorite Johann Rinkens and best-selling author Mark Shepherd to immerse in the principles and practice of growing food – guided and supported by the vast intelligence of nature – where human thriving also supports and nourishes Earth and our fellow beings. In addition to classroom learning, you will also have the opportunity to witness a Restoration Agriculture system being implemented, right on the land where the workshop is taking place. This includes a tour and discussion (of the why and how) of a swale/berm system that was put in place last Fall, and (weather permitting) a live demo of planting the tree and shrub layers of a polyculture food forest.
