By 2030, New Jersey looks to cut food waste by half. This will reduce methane emissions from dumps, thus lowering the amount of greenhouse gases contributing to climate change. The state plans to use waste-to-energy facilities to power 2.5 million homes a year. What about bringing some of that waste to local farmers to use as compost?
