We are looking for an assistant manager and two hard working interns for the 2023 season.
The assistant manager position is ideal for someone who has farm experience, but isn’t quite ready to go out on their own. We prefer someone who has had two full farm seasons of experience, but will also consider one year. Work will include overseeing our crew, tractor work, marketing, greenhouse, field work, and everything involved with running a farm. Hours start slow in March, are @ 25-50 + hours week June through September, and taper off through November.
At Cherry Grove Organic Farm we offer a great learning experience through a hands-on approach to all aspects of farming. Work will include seeding, planting, harvesting, tractor work, cultivating, attending markets, and many other jobs associated with running the farm. Several former interns have successfully gone on to farm on their own. The pay for the assistant manager position is negotiable, based on experience and the pay for the intern is $16.50/hour and includes workers comp and fresh vegetables. Potential for increased pay based on performance.
Having gained all my experience in farming through internships, we are especially capable of offering a great learning experience to serious individuals who wish to pursue a career in farming. We have had several former interns placed in farm management positions.
