We are looking to fill a Student Garden Associate on our Network Engagement Team, located in Neptune, New Jersey. This position is responsible for assisting the Garden Education Coordinator with Fulfill’s organic garden activities and create partnership-building projects throughout Monmouth and Ocean County. The main focus of this position will be recruiting, sustaining, and educating the School Garden Network partners. This also includes the planning, planting, maintenance and harvesting of produce that will be distributed directly to neighbors in need, partner agencies and/or the Fulfill Culinary Training Program. The School Garden Associate will also be required to work alongside and help manage volunteers. Travel is required for this role.

Qualified candidates will have experience in and knowledge of vegetable production and local food systems, along with garden education and project planning (a plus.) Must have experience in collaborating with other organizations to create useful partnerships, networking experience and ability to work with diverse populations, along with a comfort level in coordinating and managing volunteers of all ages. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required along with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Our garden/farm environment requires extensive walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying items weighing in excess of 50 pounds, farm and other material handling equipment. In addition, you will be regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, both hot and cold. This role periodically works extended hours and weekends and is eligible for overtime pay for hours in excess of 40 hours.
