Ruth and her husband Eric own and run Ruthie’s BBQ and Pizza in Montclair NJ. Her interest in agriculture started with her family purchase of an abandoned farmhouse in Warren County on a working farm producing feed. Looking to learn more about regenerative practices and opportunities for local economic development, she was eager to take part in the regional grain initiative when approached by RVCG. Ruthie’s now serves pizzas made from their own flour, as well as help connect RVCG to Montclair Bakeries. Because of the positive response of this collaborative project she is working toward establishing a suitable location for a storage, cleaning, milling and distributing that that will enable the connection between the grower, miller, and baker.
