Erin Collins, Sussex County Community College

Agricultural Business & Horticultural Science Program Supervisor

Erin Collins’ expertise in all things plants began cultivating as a child growing up in a central Ohio farming community. A graduate of Oregon State University with a Master of Science in Horticulture, her graduate research project was on living, or “Green,” roofs. She moved to New Jersey in 2010 to explore vegetable farming. She has also gotten her hands dirty in public gardens, beekeeping, estate gardening, and hydroponic farming. But her favorite way to garden is to garden for a purpose, whether building a rain garden, a garden for pollinators, or to grow beautiful vegetables for nutrition. Erin is currently the Agricultural Business & Horticultural Science Program Supervisor at Sussex County Community College where she is happy cultivating future farmers as a professor and advisor to her students. SCCC AG Science program is excited to lease 5 acres at SAgE, giving students the opportunity to learn the agricultural and the business hands-on creating a dynamic purpose in their field
