Kristen Johnson graduated from Rutgers University in May 2012 with a B.S. in Animal Science. She was accepted to Tufts University’s Masters in Animals and Public Policy (MAPP) Program and graduated with her M.S. in September 2016. Kristen completed a three month externship with the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in Washington D.C., where she was responsible for assessing the efficacy of protocols established under the Humane Methods of Slaughter Act (HMSA). She accepted a job with the USDA’s NJ Farm Service Agency in December 2016 as a County Operations Trainee. Kristen aspires to become a County Executive Director for the agency so that she can continue to support New Jersey Agriculture.
