As the holiday season approaches, there are few seasonal activities as fun as picking out your own Christmas tree. NOFA NJ encourages families, individuals, and companies throughout NJ to  support local tree farmers while embracing a cherished holiday tradition. Don’t wait until the last minute and get a tree that’s been trucked in – support a local farmer instead!

We’ve highlighted some of the  Garden State’s Christmas Tree farms to visit below. While we love all our farmers, a few favorites include:

• The Fir Farm (Colts Neck, NJ) – The Fir Farm’s Trees For Troops program allows customers to purchase trees that will be delivered to military personnel stationed overseas and to military families while their significant other is deployed. *NOFA NJ Member
• Ponderosa Tree Farm (Egg Harbor City, NJ) – Ponderosa Tree Farm is a great example of farm transfer from experienced farmers aging out of the business to a beginning farmer, keeping the tradition and community alive around the holidays.
• Alstede Farms (Chester, NJ) – Alstede Farms makes a day of it with a hayride, cut-your-own and pre-cut trees, holiday gifts and treats, and special events like photos with Santa. *NOFA NJ Member
