The field day will discuss the potential for Lima Beans as a crop for the mid Atlantic and Northeast growing regions.  The USDA SCRI Lima Bean Project has partners across all levels of the lima bean industry.  We have seed varieties from UC Davis as well as from University of Delaware.  This project was set in motion by the awesome Sarah Dohle Phaseolus Curator at the USDA germplasm seed bank in Washington State.  Our goal is develop seed for Lima varieties that will thrive her on the east coast and demonstrate the beautiful wide variety within in the Lima Bean family.
