This program is for individuals who want to prepare for an entry level job in a nursery, garden center, or botanical garden as well as hobbyists and home gardeners who want to increase their knowledge of and skill in horticulture. In this 36-hour program, understand the basics of horticulture, plant science, plant identification, soil science, and organic growing and farming. Gain hands-on experience in Brookdale’s greenhouse with emphasis on cultural practices and plant growth and development. Find out about multifaceted career paths in horticulture such as horticulture therapy and landscape maintenance/design.
