JOB TITLE: Senior Account Manager (Salaried Non-Exempt) Zone 7 is a 100% local, farm-fresh distribution company connecting farm with restaurants, grocers and schools. Founded in 2008 and based in central New Jersey, Zone 7 is named after our agricultural growing zone and works exclusively with local/regional farmers to offer fruit, berries, vegetables, mushrooms, eggs, honey, cheese, and grain products 52 week of the year. GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: Full-time position, Salary, 40 hours, Monday through Friday, weekends as needed. If you have the stuff, we’ll know! The Senior Account Manager acts as a contact person for existing customers and helps expand the organization’s customer base by building new relationships and onboarding customers. This position is geared towards individuals with sales experience and those who are comfortable with both inside calls and outside visits. These individuals work on an incentive pay program (base salary plus commission) and report directly to the Sales Manager. This individual must embody company core values and professionalism in all aspects of Zone 7 and have an upbeat attitude and goal driven mindset. Must be team oriented, computer savvy, comfortable on the phone, be resilient to rejection and have a passion for local produce. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for hitting sales goals and increasing sales with new & existing customers in territory, which are assigned by the Sales Manager Perform sales responsibilities both inside and outside of the office Responsible for order entry & overall customer relations, however can rely on help of Sales Associates when necessary Meets with customers to determine needs and establish strong relationships. Prepares reports and agendas for customer meetings. Recommend products to customers based on customers’ needs and interests. When needed, analyze sales data daily, weekly, and monthly to monitor and ensure the achievement of sales objectives on total sales volume, gross profit and shrink, as well as to identify sales opportunities. Investigate lost sales and customer accounts Seeks out qualified opportunities with potential new customers through networking, special events and phone queries. Develops these opportunities by offering timely information, superior customer service and other support resources while actively collaborating with Zone 7 team members Communicate effectively with the customer base and Zone 7 staff and management to ensure open lines of communication QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB: Education Four year college degree, preferably in business, agriculture or food systems related major or equivalent education and experience. Experience Must have proven experience in customer relationship management. Previous sales experience, two to three years of experience working in produce sales and two to three years working in produce farming, retail, food-service, or wholesale local food and produce distribution is preferred. Knowledge of relevant software applications, including excel, necessary.
