WHY-Operation Diversification, funded by a Highlands Council Sustainable Agriculture grant, is a farm stewardship trial on Provenance Farm that aims to reduce the risk of trialing old/new practices to increase farm viability. For more information on the project:

Morgan’s initial assessment of the soil in June of 2023 initiated a major U Turn for the owners, farmers, conservation easement owners to investigate the impact of the 90-year history of disturbance. Thankfully the cooperative endeavor pursued a grant to initiate practices for low, middle and high gear practices to implement on this road to restoration…animals YES but also a completely new way of seeing things that has long since been forgotten.

Since that first visit with Morgan and the subsequent baseline soil testing, he has become the newly appointed managing director of Understanding AG’s partnership with Green River Regenerative Farm, Inc. in Williamstown, Mass. to become a hub for regenerative agricultural learning, research and professional development. The historic farm will create a high-level, regenerative agricultural education and training program and to expand the farm’s regenerative cropping and livestock production systems.

We have this rare opportunity to invite all to learn more about soil, plants, animals, and the profits to be had from understanding more about their interdependence. Please join us in the much-needed conversation of regenerative conversions especially for the small farm context in NJ. For more about Morgan:

Bring your questions, no matter how simple or complex. This webinar is one part presentation and equal amount Q&A  as  a collaborative space where we can investigate symptoms and co-create solutions for the future. Your active participation is not just welcomed; it’s crucial as we all learn to increase Farm Viability in New Jersey from these trials.
