As community awareness rises regarding the benefits of healthy organic produce, many are thinking about how to grow in their own backyard.

Whether you are an organic gardening newbie or an experienced gardener, NOFA-NJ’s Organic Gardening Course for Food Production will provide you with time-tested information as well as opportunities to discuss specific questions about your garden. You can find organic plant starters in many locations. Here’s a simple listing of places to start:

Kittatinny Mountain Farm will have organic seedlings for sale starting in mid/late April at the farm and at our farmers markets beginning in mid-May.

Rodale is having their sale April 3 & 4, still on as of now, but they will post on their site if anything changes.

Snapping Turtle Farm will sell seedlings in 4” pots to the public starting in May, tomato, peppers, eggplant, cucumber, bitter melon.

Whole Earth Center has assorted herb plants starting now, from Virginia. Lots of starter plants from Sandbrook Meadow Farm coming starting in a couple weeks.

Basil Bandwagon also has starter plants.
